TROAS. Abydos. Circa 80s-70s BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 16.81 g, 12 h), Aristonos, magistrate. Draped bust of Artemis to right, wearing stephane and necklace and with bow and quiver over her shoulder. Rev. ABY-ΔH-NΩN / APIΣΤΩNOΣ Eagle standing right with wings spread; in field to right, crested Macedonian helmet to right; all within laurel wreath. Callataÿ, Abydos, -. A bright and attractive piece perfectly centered on a very broad flan. Minor doubling on the obverse and with light traces of overstriking, otherwise, good extremely fine.
